Regenerating the land

Turning kerbside waste into renewable gas

Firstgas Group is working with Ecogas at their Reporoa biogas facility, to turn kerbside waste into renewable gas for use in homes and businesses. Once up and running in 2023, this will produce enough renewable gas to supply the equivalent of 9000 households. Watch this short video to find out more or visit

Research on business and climate change action

Stats NZ's recent business operations survey found one in three businesses invest in climate-change related measures, with plans for investments focused on lower-emission technology, staff training, and building efficiency.

Ākina Impact Supplier applications have reopened, providing certification for impact-led organisations to prove that they make a positive impact. Certified businesses receive the 'Impact Certified Supplier' mark and entry to the social procurement programme to connect with other Impact Suppliers and Buyers on the Impact Directory.

Climate Response Accelerator kicks off for 2022 

Creative HQ is kicking off the Climate Response Accelerator for 2022, a 12-week programme designed to help impact-focused entrepreneurs solve some of our planet's most urgent challenges. We will profile the 10 teams over coming weeks, starting withCiRCLR. CiRCLR connects businesses by adding value to waste and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill using blockchain technology.
