Sustainability Leadership Programme

CCC consultation changes

A huge thank you to all who joined our workshop on Monday 1 March to discuss SBC and CLC's joint draft report. We appreciate your opinions and knowledge shared, and we will send out the recorded workshop early next week.


Our first draft will be circulated to members by 9 March for feedback by 12 March.

Profile: Nic Blanchard

Nic Blanchard has joined the SBC team as Advisor, Communications and Social Media. She returned to Wellington after some time abroad to support SBC and its members during a dynamic, exciting time for NZ's future. She previously worked in comms and media roles with TIA and the University of Otago.

DB Breweries say goodbye to coal

DB's Timaru brewery has transitioned from coal to biomass, with the goal to be 100% biomass-generated by October 2021. Switching away from coal will decrease DB's total carbon footprint by 28% - a significant step in the right direction.

Case study on sustainable cartons

Thinkstep-anz's latest case study finds cartons have the lowest carbon footprint of eight other available sustainable packaging options. This study investigates the entire life cycle of the packaging, plus the packaging required for products to reach consumers.

New member profile: TIA

Tourism Industry Aotearoa is an independent organisation representing all sectors of NZ's tourism industry. They embarked on their sustainability journey in 2017 with the Tourism Sustainability Commitment.

WBCSD and COP26

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and nine other organisations have been invited to join forces with the UK presidency to organize a dedicated 'Built Environment and Cities Day’ at COP26 in November this year.

The CFO and Sustainability training programme is open to Pānui subscribers. Developed in partnership with Deloitte, this short course empowers CFOs to take the lead in managing climate change risk. It builds on our 2020 pilot programme developed specifically at the request of CFOs and shaped by their insights.
