AirNZ on top in reputation survey 

Kantar in partnership with Wright Communications, has released its Corporate Reputation Index, which shows Air New Zealand has scored highest for trust and responsibility, and third highest for leadership. Congratulations to the SBC and CLC members featured in the top 20 - Mitre10, Toyota, The Warehouse Group, Zespri, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Pak’n Save, New Zealand Post and New World. 

New electric bitumen tank 

Downer New Zealand's Road Science has opened a new electric bitumen tank at Lyttelton Port. The tank can hold five million litres of bitumen for use constructing roads and pavements and is made from a converted oil tank. It's also the first of its size in Australasia to be fully electrified, which is expected to save a further 290 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.

Continuing to move beyond diversity

Gender equality and enabling female leadership in the workplace were the focus of the agenda in the latest of SBC’s ‘Moving Beyond Diversity’ hui hosted by Watercare. GIDI funding open 

Industrial businesses ready to make the switch to clean energy are invited to apply for the expanded Government Investment in Decarbonising Industry (GIDI) Fund, which is now live for eight weeks, closing 4 August 2022. Mike Burrell joins the EECA team in this video to explain why partnerships like this are vital in the decarbonisation journey.

TIA Tourism Awards open: 

Entries are open for the New Zealand Tourism Awards 2022, showcasing and celebrating the tourism industry’s individual and business successes. There is a new award for Regenerative Tourism, plus an Environment Award and Conservation Award, so spread the news and enter before 14 July.

Sustainability reporting trends 

Sustainability reporting in New Zealand is on the rise with more companies disclosing their greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and impact on society. Nikki Wright from Wright Communications shares the trends her team have noticed in sustainability reporting, and why being succinct and using international ESG standards are more common. 

Voluntary offsets survey 

Te Whakahaere Āhuarangi Limited is undertaking market analysis to assess the current and future supply and demand for voluntary offsets in New Zealand for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme. The research will identify opportunities to develop and incentivise the market for voluntary offsets. Businesses are invited to participate in a survey that will help inform MfE about the type of offset projects that individual businesses can support, and the scale needed to meet current and future demand for offsets. Fill out the survey here

Profile Group represents a family of businesses that together form New Zealand's only integrated supply chain for aluminium and uPVC window and door solutions. NEW: MindTheGap Webinar

In March of this year, a group called MindTheGap launched a registry for New Zealand businesses with over fifty employees to publicly register their pay gap. So far 55 businesses have done so. 
The MindTheGap campaign, founded by Dellwyn Stuart and Jo Cribb says international evidence shows that when we shed some light on our pay gaps, we can get to work on closing them.
